When I was 5 years old my Family and I started sailing our 41’ sailboat up and down the coast of New England, snorkeling, fishing and clamming as often as we could. As I grew older, I learned to use my father’s Mares pneumatic snub nose that today, hangs on the wall next to his 22lb Tautog mount he shot when he was a teenager. It has always been a dream of mine to beat his record and when I was 19 my dive-buddy, Eric Woodford shot a 24lb Blackfish as I assisted to land the monster. We counted this as team win in accomplishing my goal. A year later, I was gifted an issue of Hawaiian Skindiver and was instantly inspired to grow my passion for spearfishing. My father is a talented carpenter by trade and together we have built 8 custom spearguns, 2 of which I used to win the 2022 Tristate Species Meet. Cooking seafood with friends and family that we harvested from the ocean on one breath with handcrafted tools is what life is all about to me! I’m very excited to be leading the Tristate Skindivers this year, please reach out to me at any time.
